Privacy Policy for Flight Searches & Bookings

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy covers personal information associated with makemystrip.com, flight booking requests, customer accounts, and communications with Makemystrip. It explains the information involved in those activities, the purposes for using it, and how to ask questions or exercise applicable rights.

Airlines, booking suppliers, banks, email applications, and other providers also handle information under their own responsibilities. This notice does not give blanket consent to unrelated uses, advertising, or optional tracking. Any legally required permission must be obtained separately.

1. Information submitted for an inquiry or booking

The information needed depends on the service requested. Provide details about another traveler only with appropriate authority, and do not send sensitive information that is unrelated to the request.

  • Contact details, inquiry topic, message, and booking reference when you contact the agency.
  • Name, email address, password submitted for registration, and information associated with account access.
  • Routes, dates, passenger counts, names, ages or dates of birth, cabin preferences, and necessary travel-document details.
  • Card and billing information submitted in the booking payment form, transaction references, and payment status.
  • Correspondence about confirmations, corrections, changes, cancellations, refunds, and complaints.

2. Device, search, and browser information

Website access can create technical records such as an IP address, browser type, time of access, page request, referral information, and error or security events. Searches contain trip choices such as airports, dates, and traveler counts.

Sign-in information is kept in browser local storage, and session storage supports search selections and booking continuity. Trip information may also appear in search URLs. Shared devices, browser history, and copied links can expose those details to other users; do not put sensitive documents or payment information into a URL.

3. Purposes for processing

Information is used to respond to inquiries, provide requested flight options, administer an account, process an authorized booking request, deliver relevant communications, and review changes or billing concerns. Technical records can support troubleshooting, misuse prevention, and service security.

Records may also be needed for accounting, legal obligations, and the handling of claims. A booking inquiry is not permission for unrelated promotional messages. You can ask to stop marketing messages without stopping essential communications about a transaction you have requested.

4. Airlines, suppliers, and service providers

Passenger and trip information may be shared with the airline, booking supplier, or travel provider needed for the requested itinerary. Hosting, email, technical-support, payment, and security providers may handle information relevant to their function.

Information may be disclosed to meet a legal duty, respond to a valid request, address fraud or a dispute, or protect legal rights. A business transfer may involve relevant records subject to applicable protections. Receiving suppliers may have independent privacy obligations; review their notices for the services you choose.

5. Payment details and confidential information

The booking payment form collects the card details you enter and sends them to the booking service for the requested transaction. Do not assume that only a separate payment company receives that information. Payment processing and record handling also depend on the parties involved in the transaction.

For ordinary email inquiries, use your reference, date, amount, and a description of the issue. Do not email full card numbers, card security codes, passwords, or unnecessary passport copies. A displayed masked card number describes that screen and is not a statement about every provider's storage practices.

6. Cookies and optional advertising tools

Account and booking browser storage supports the functions described above. The current website implementation does not include Google Ads or Google Tag Manager tracking tags. A campaign parameter in a page address does not itself establish that a tracking tag is running.

If optional measurement or advertising tools are introduced, their purposes and relevant choices need to be disclosed and any legally required controls applied. Browser storage and external services are explained in the Cookies Policy. Reading this page is not consent to future advertising technologies.

7. Retention, safeguards, and international processing

Different records may need to be kept for different periods, depending on the booking, account activity, accounting obligations, applicable law, and an unresolved claim. A request to delete information may not remove records that must lawfully be retained. Ask us about the information associated with your case.

Information may be handled in the countries where travel suppliers and service providers operate, which may differ from your location. Applicable transfer requirements remain relevant. No website or communication method is risk free; protect your credentials and contact us if you believe your records have been misused. This notice does not claim a security certification or an absolute security guarantee.

8. Requests and rights under applicable law

Email info@makemystrip.com with a description of your privacy request. Depending on your location, the law's applicability, and permitted exceptions, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of information, restrict or object to a use, withdraw consent, or exercise advertising-related choices.

We may need proportionate verification to protect a record and confirm an authorized representative's authority. Do not send a full identity document unless a necessary verification method has been explained. Applicable response deadlines, appeal rights, and rights to approach a regulator are not replaced by this policy. California and other privacy laws apply according to their coverage requirements; this notice does not assert that every statutory right applies to every visitor.

9. Children, external links, and policy updates

The booking and account service is intended to be used by adults. An authorized adult may provide necessary details for a child traveling on a reservation. Contact us if you believe a child submitted an account or inquiry without the appropriate adult's involvement.

Opening a map, airline website, or email application takes you to another service with its own practices. Review the update date and contact us about a change that affects your information. Publishing a revised notice does not remove a legal requirement to notify you or obtain consent where required.
